Another Graduation!

Our son Rob graduated from BYU in Business Management, Magna Cum Laude! (top 5%)
We're so proud of him and his little family. They are trying to do what's right and live the kind of life the Lord wants them to.
Here are some fun pictures. (The angel-graduate is little Robbie. The dark-haired beauty is Julie, the proud wife/mother.)

Time into Eternity

Until time becomes eternity;
It's one moment in the dark.
It ebbs and flows with frailty
Until the Master makes His mark.

Then the brightness of truth pierces
The shadows of mortality,
Growing ever bright until
The daybreak of eternity.

Dave and I were sealed in the Jordan River Temple on Aug 19, 2008.
What a joy it was to have so many of our children and friends there!
Look at some of our beautiful posterity which bring us so much joy!

Summer's Almost Gone

Okay, so summer's almost over. Big hairy deal! We've had a lot of fun!

Let me share some fun times we've had this summer with the most beautiful and talented children & grandchildren.
Yes, I am bragging, but with good reason, as you will see:

Mia drives better than Dave!

A little windy...

Mike, making waves of his own. He was so entertaining as he jumped the wake, waved as he raced the boat and lifted up his skis. :~)

Steven getting some serious air.

Laura found her niche at Disneyland.

Ancient graffiti is cool!

"BASEBALL STUFF!!!"

Mary, Matthew, and Sarah. I told you they were cute!

Me n BoJo...(a.k.a. Christine. See, she's beautiful too!)

Okay, so I got a perm. It's just curly hair, yet some people didn't recognize me! Go figure.

"It's so tasty too. Tastes just like candy..."

Before we smelled Doce's breath, and after...

I don't care what biscuits you give a dog; dog breath is called "dog breath" for a reason...
Doce is still cute, though.

Cherokee Or Not Cherokee? That Is the Question.

I've been spending some time on the Internet and at the Family History Library downtown searching for my ancestors on Indian rolls, census records, vital statistics records, and everything else I can find.
The fact that my Great-great-great-grandmother was a Cherokee by blood has been told and understood since my mother first found an 1840 census in Illinois stating the fact.

I decided to find the necessary proof to apply for membership in the Cherokee Nation. I must find birth certificates and anything else which tracks the Cherokee blood to me.

One interesting mystery is that this Native American Ancestor, Julia Caine, was either married to a British man or a Creek Indian. I am finding evidence for both!

Sometimes the genealogy researched by others is unreliable; this is another reason why I must find the true documentation.

Serediputously, I have found children in families which had before been empty, and discovered additional marriages. Fun, fun, fun!

To be continued...
