Working Like a Dog... Wait! Dogs Usually Just Lie Around or Chase Cars!

When I am working hard, or involved with lots of projects that help other people I feel good, useful and happy. My job ended last week. The VP of Public Affairs and Marketing that I supported as Executive Assistant, her position was eliminated. Therefore, so was mine.

I graduated with a BS in Marketing at about that time as well, so I began applying for jobs in both fields. I applied for about 55 jobs, got my hopes up about a couple of them, and today am waiting for two positions to draw up an offer. It's a nice place to be in. I would like working at either place, so we will take a closer look at the specifics and pray about our decision and go from there. FUN!

In the meantime, a friend has contracted my PPT skills and marketing perspective for his projects, I did some additional training online in Social Media Marketing, and feel as though there are so many open doors, I just need to make a decision to walk through one of them.

I am also always busy helping Dave with his projects as well as projects of my own. I am constantly working on the yearly "Year at a Glance", our weekly newsletters, this blog, my testimony blog, birthdays/anniversaries, missionary efforts, indexing, photography and writing contests, singing, writing music, practicing piano and flute, family history research and projects, journal writing, getting our house in order, gardening, emergency preparedness, church callings, community service, neighbor relations, political involvement and education. I even manage to make it to the gymn 4 times/week and hope to lose a few pounds in the process.

Being unemployed these days may be the new norm, but it is one I wanted to avoid.

Prior preparation and experience has certainly helped to place me in this position. I am SO GLAD that I stuck with it and graduated!! It was difficult at times, and I wanted to give up, but I didn't. Dave played a huge part in it by supporting me, encouraging me, and putting up with the late nights.

So, today I am holding my breath. When I receive the two offers in hand and make the decision to accept one of them, we will celebrate. Until then, we are praying things will go according to His will.

But I am sure smiling!
